Successful Knowledge Series events held in October

The free breakfast events, aimed at promoting best practice and knowledge sharing within the construction industry are formally accredited by the CPD and welcome attendance from professionals in all areas of the built environment including clients, consultants, architects and PQS.

The Birmingham event on 4th October at the Council house saw three industry-leading speakers present on a diverse range of topics relevant to the construction industry. Alan Wilén, Economics Director at Glenigan began the morning with an analysis of current prospects and opportunities in the construction market; Matt Sutton, Associate Director at award-winning communications agency Camargue then followed with a discussion of crisis and reputation management across the development lifecycle before Eleanor Deeley, partner in the Birmingham office of Cushman & Wakefield, presented an overview of the residential market in the West Midlands.

The Knowledge Series returned to The Watershed in Bristol on 10th October to round off the 2017 calendar of events. The morning began started with Ze Nunes, founding director of Acoustics agency MACH Acoustics presenting on the visualization of sound and air in low carbon buildings. Next to speak was James Blundell, partner in the Bristol office of Cushman & Wakefield, with an overview of the residential market in the South West. The final speaker of the morning was Toby Barker from Camargue who closed the event with a presentation on crisis and reputation management across the development lifecycle.

Des O’Neill, Group Managing Director for Speller Metcalfe said: “We are delighted with the great turn-outs that we had at each of our events this month and with the fantastic speakers that we were able to secure. Thank you to all of those who attended and continue to support us in our commitment to sharing best practice.

The Knowledge Series was first created by our friend and colleague Bill Munn who sadly passed away in September. Bill was known as a champion of change and best practice within the industry, and, as announced at our Birmingham Knowledge Series event earlier this month , we proud to have formally re-named our CPD events to ‘The Bill Munn Knowledge Series’ in his memory.”

The next Bill Munn Knowledge Series events will take place in April 2018. To ensure you are the first to hear about events from Speller Metcalfe, please email events@spellermetcalfe.com to be added to our mailing list.
