Worcester Cricket Club, Graeme Hick Pavilion

Project

Worcester Cricket Club

The works included the demolition of the old pavilion that had been on the ground for many years and due to it being located in a persistent flood area the building itself had become dilapidated. During demolition much of the materials were recovered for recycling into new projects.

Following demolition and a two week delay due to torrential rains and flooding, construction began and was completed for the first match of the season.

The pavilion itself was a steel structure built on stilts to rise above future flooding. Inside, the building encapsulated a large open plan hall with bar on the ground floor, the first floor housing changing facilities, toilet/shower areas, a caterers kitchen, commentary box and balcony above the newly installed seating area below. The contract was completed within budget and on time for the grand opening by Graeme Hick.
